About this data

Median real estate taxes paid and median home value for owner-occupied homes in all 50 states, D.C. and the U.S., from the Census Bureau's American Community Survey 2024 1-year estimates (tables B25103 and B25077), with margins of error and with/without-mortgage medians. The effective rate is VaultRubric's calculation: median taxes divided by median value. It is a state-wide guide, not any home's actual rate. The 2025 ACS 1-year estimates are scheduled for Oct. 29, 2026.

Where does the data come from?

U.S. Census Bureau, American Community Survey 1-year estimates, tables B25103 (median real estate taxes paid) and B25077 (median home value), owner-occupied homes. VaultRubric only reformats and summarizes it; every number links back to the original source.

How often is it updated?

Whenever the source publishes new figures; the page and CSV regenerate from the same file, and dateModified shows the last rebuild.
