Coverage: make and model counts exist only where a state publishes them for free (Washington for all vehicles; Washington and Connecticut for plug-ins; New York by make and model year). Maryland and Delaware publish fuel-type counts only. Full 50-state make and model data is sold by private vendors (for example S&P Global Mobility and Experian) and requires a paid license, so we don't show it.

What this means for you

Popular models usually have more used listings, more parts and more mechanics who know them, which can make them easier to sell later. A model that is rare in your state may take longer to sell. This is popularity, not a quality rating and not advice to buy or sell any car.

FAQ

Which states are covered?

Washington (all vehicles, make and model), New York (make and model year), Connecticut and Washington (plug-ins by model), Maryland and Delaware (fuel type), plus DOE plug-in counts for all 50 states and DC.

Why not all 50 states by model?

Most states don't publish make and model counts for free. Full 50-state data requires a paid license from private vendors.
