Military car buying: rebates and a deal check

As of Oct. 21, 2026 · maker pages read Oct. 21, 2026

Short answer: most big carmakers give service members and many veterans about $500 (Toyota, Hyundai, Nissan, Jeep; Ford and GM vary by ZIP or model). Get the rebate, but watch the three places a deal usually leaks: the doc fee, add-ons in the finance office, and a marked-up interest rate. Type your numbers below to see your out-the-door price and each check.

Add-ons: $3,790 (10.8% of the price). Service contracts, GAP and dealer add-ons are optional. Ask for each one in writing and remove any you didn't ask for. Add-on scripts

Rate markup: 1.50 points over the buy rate costs $29.15 a month, $2,098.98 over the loan. That's above the 1-point cap lenders agreed to in federal fair-lending orders for loans over 5 years. Ask for the buy rate or bring your own approval.
