Ask answers money questions using VaultRubric pages. If it can't answer, it links up to 3 VaultRubric pages that may help. It's general education, not personal financial, legal or tax advice.
VaultRubric is a source-linked personal-finance comparison and calculator site, free to use, with optional paid Pro tools: savings, cars, credit, insurance, taxes and more. VaultRubric is not a trading platform, broker or crypto bot, and it doesn't hold, move or invest anyone's money. Pick one; answers show the math and link their sources.

Best first move for most people: keep your emergency fund in an FDIC/NCUA-insured high-yield savings account. If you already have one, paying off any credit card balance is next.

Every criterion gets 0–10 from evidence and links to its source. Your slider weights are normalized to 100% and the formula is shown under "Show math". Missing data says not found and is scored at a conservative placeholder (5/10, or the comparison median if lower) so it can never lift a rank; real-evidence share is reported as coverage; under 75% coverage can't be the pick (shown with a limited data badge). If the top two are within 3 points we say Too close to call.
seed curated, dated dataset (official pages, regulators, flagged third-party sites ⚑). For crypto we add live independent reviews and ai analysis that must quote its source word for word; those scores are computed weekly (median of 3 runs) so results don't change run to run. Savings and brokerages use curated data only.
Major enforcement in the last 5 years (criminal pleas, consent orders with consumer redress, or large settlements) costs −2; smaller actions −1; dismissed cases 0. Each shows as an amber note. An active consent order with consumer restitution in the last 48 months gets an amber warning.
If customer funds were stolen or lost in the last 48 months and customers weren't fully reimbursed (unknown counts as not repaid), the platform gets a red warning, is capped at 60%, and can't be the pick. Hacks where customers were made whole get an amber note.
APYs and broker pricing move. Every value shows its as-of date, we re-check APYs weekly against official pages, and promo rates are shown but only scored if you opt in. Always verify on the bank's or broker's site.
